Only run once before in 1992, the Dragon’s Back Race is legendary. This film takes you into the heart of an inspiring adventure as the 2012 race weaves a brutal path down the mountainous spine of Wales. Follow the 84 runners as they battle fatigue, blisters and their own mental and physical limits. The Dragon’s Back Race film is a compelling, intimate and beautiful portrayal of mountain running.
"One of the great running documentaries. A must see for any runner."
Matt Heason, Sheffield Adventure Film Festival
"A breathtaking film."
Claire Maxted, Editor, Trail Running magazine
"Awesome endurance and stunning filming – all the ingredients of a classic mountain running movie"
Dan Bailey, Editor, UKHillwalking.com
"A film of epic proportions, in every way!"
Matt Ward, Editor, MudSweatandTears.co.uk
“Remote, Relentless, Ruthless but Ravishing”
Ian Corless, TalkUltra.co.uk
“A quietly confident documentary that utilises the silence and calm of the Welsh mountain landscape to draw the portraits of those who competed in the second legendary Dragon's Back Race”.
Dave MacFarlane, Editor, planetFear.com
“Having been at the Dragon’s Back Race™ 2012 myself reporting for Trail Running magazine, I can see why the film has scooped three awards at ShAFF. It deftly conveys both the beauty of Welsh mountain scenery and the tough-as-nails attitude of the runners taking part in this extreme 220 mile, five day race last September. Watching, you feel like you are part of this race, and interviews with both elite and regular racers gives you a unique insight into the hardships they are willing, or not willing, to endure.”
Claire Maxted, Editor, Trail Running magazine
"In an age where some believe they can achieve celebrity on the flimsiest of pretences, these modest yet superhuman runners display real reason for celebration, yet are virtually unknown outside of the ultrarunning and mountain marathon world."
Bob Smith, Editorial Director, Grough
"Mesmerizing...how could the race not be on my To-Do list?"
Tia Bodington, Editor, Ultra Running
"All in all, a riveting, engaging, humbling and very human film that should appeal to anyone with an interest in mountain running or human endurance generally. Totally recommended."
Jon Doran, Editor, Outdoors Magic
"It's a fine piece of work, at once imposingly epic and endearingly human, in that it captures the magnificence of the setting and the fortitude of the runners to equal degrees..."
Tony O’Donnell, Editor, The Outdoor Times

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the DVD - the film blew me away and the extras are fascinating. I'll be watching it all again and again.
I received The Dragon DVD this past week and having watched it, it is now my favorite running movie. All of you did an exceptional job producing, filming, and editing and it was well worth the wait. It spoke to me on so many levels having crossed over into Ultra racing last year coming from running marathon background. It has proved a great inspiration for me as I attempt to conquer The North Face 50 miler race in June in the U.S. in my hometown of Washington D.C. Cheers on a well-done documentary adventure race film and all the best.
DVD received! Watched it last night and really loved it…. WOW what an event! The film captured it so well.
